About Us

The Hawks is a volunteer-run club, relying heavily on parents and senior members of the club to make it thrive. There's always something to do, and we encourage parents to put their hands up to help - have a chat to your team manager or a committee member, or drop us a line.

Volunteer roles include:

  • team managers, who help keep everyone informed of trainings and games, and organise tournament trips, amongst many other things (extra help is sought whenever we travel to a tournament); and
  • support roles, including the chair, secretary, treasurer, coaching director, uniform, etc.

Our Coaching Director Sarah Chambers takes the lead on all pool-based activities, including appointing coaches and organising training groups. She is often new members' first point of contact with the club.

Our specialist coaches run age-based training sessions during all four school terms at Wellington Regional Aquatic Centre in Kilbirnie. They are used to welcoming new players, and introducing them to our training approach.

Harbour City Hawks is the trading name of the Harbour City Water Polo Club Inc, established in 1986.
